What a facade of a spa. The places looks nice, but far more money is put into it's appearance than anything else. The therapists are all great and give wonderful treatments. Where this spa sucks is within, with the employers.
They hire people illegally who aren't licensed. They don't tell new hires any of the facts about their job duties or pay. They only hire cute, young, and skinny girls. They pay a horrible 23% for their therapists. And deduct money from their tips. They force employees to work 11 hour days of hard labor but only pay them the hours they get clients. The rest of those hours worked cleaning, doing laundry, walking back and forth with trash and supplies from their office a block away... those hours are all worked essentially for free as they say "Everyone has the same responsibilities and we work together as a team. Since we pay so well we expect some extra work out of you"
The list goes on with employees.... but let's talk about the roaches they have infesting the place. Clients have seen them too! They say its from the bakery next door, yet they won't do anything about it because they don't want to use harmful chemicals in their "organic" environment. However they pay off the City of Burbank and the Health department so they don't have to worry about getting into trouble for any of these law breakers.
If they didn't serve all the cut fruit in one day they refrigerate it until it's gone even if that's a week. Think your fruit is fresh? Think again. The employees dig their unwashed hands into the cookie bins also, so munch on those germs people.
You probably will have a great experience at rA so long as you don't see a roach. But the people who work on you are going to be torn up inside over the fact that they hate their job and their employers so bad, but they are scared to leave the income behind. Ask these questions and hear the resentment in their voices.
